    To extend our organization we are looking for a:


    Data Protection & Privacy Officer (fulltime, office based in Groningen/Assen)


    As Data Protection Officer, you will report into the VP / Chief Privacy Officer Data Protection Officer who is responsible to oversee that PRA Health Sciences practices comply with data protection laws. You also liaise with supervisory authorities.


    What will you be doing as Data Protection Officer?

    • You will provide business oriented pragmatic support and advice in a dynamic, international and stimulating environment
    • Monitor and regularly audit PRA’s compliance with European data protection laws, including GDPR and the ePrivacy regulation
    • Co-implement and further develop PRA’s GDPR compliance and report on status of compliance regularly
    • Fulfill Dutch role of “Functionaris Gegevensbescherming”
    • Inform and advise appropriate personnel about their obligations in the handling and processing of personal data under GDPR and other applicable data protection provisions
    • Ensure maintenance of the personal data map/inventory
    • Advise on data privacy impact assessments and data breach responses, and report these if needed
    • Act as point of contact for data subjects related to processing of personal data and their rights under the GDPR
    • Work closely with privacy stakeholders throughout PRA, including in the legal, HR and other teams
    • Work closely with the international legal team with regards to data protection aspects, particularly with respect to contracting


    What we ask of you:

    • Master’s degree, preference in Law
    • CIPP/E and CIPM certification preferred
    • 3-5 years of (relevant) experience, related to data protection and privacy issues or other compliance topics
    • In-depth knowledge understanding of GDPR and ePrivacy regulation or willing to be trained in
    • Background in drafting and negotiating appropriate privacy and security provisions in vendor and customer contracts
    • Strong written and oral communications skills, and the ability to communicate privacy concepts and requirements to all levels of the company
    • Ability to find practical, pragmatic and creative solutions to compliance issues
    • Able to advise a fast-paced company operating on a global scale
    • English and Dutch fluency required; fluency in other languages, such as German and/or French preferred
